usher-papers

Used to be that Usher would merely allude to his personal business on wax, but that marriage and the response from fans who have simply refused to let him grow up and be a father/husband has prompted this. “Papers” is bold, reactionary, and a little whiny while making no apology for being “Burn 2.0.” Speaking as someone who has defended Usher during the course of his marriage (to the tune of “Leave Usher alooooone!”) I can honestly say I don’t want to spend the next year hearing about his precious divorce and “what that woman did to me.” Many people credited Here I Stand for being thematically mature in spite of its trite production choices. Others bleated endlessly about his marriage doing irreparable damage to his ability to create a hit. Now the brawd is gone, yet she’s still here.

I’m just upset that R&B is still using those tired rapid-fire, bone thugs-n-harmony-style melodies!
